about
Loits’s tribute album "Trench Art - A Tribute to Loits" is going to be released on October 1st 2016 by the Mexican metal label Azermedoth Records. As of today, 16 bands have confirmed their participation and submitted tracks, including Val Tvoar feat. Väike Prints with the song "Suudelda Neidu" (Kissing the Girl). Väike Prints aka Indrek Vaheoja is the frontman of the craziest-ever Estonian punk/metal band Winny Puhh.
Väike Prints, which means ‘Little Prince’, says: “This song perfectly expresses the strength and the power of the things we say to each other. Everything you say, and everything you promise may come back to you.”
"Suudelda Neidu" originally comes from Loits's "Must Album" (Black Album). Val Tvoar rearranged the track to undergo mood and style deviations, as well as tempo changes, throughout the song. The sonic texture takes the listener on a wild ride, kicking off with heavy stoner vibes, and flowing through several intense solos before taking a detour to old school Sepultura with Little Prince screaming violently in the bridge. In the finale, the fire dissipates, and everything cools down.
The lyrics match the drama of the sound – it’s a story of a young man going off to war, exchanging promises with his lady, sealing the vows with an emotional kiss. Fast forward, and we find the girl at night, dancing, kissing a stranger - and at that very moment, her fiancé is lying in a trench on the battlefield…with a bullet hole in his forehead. Val Tvoar says, “This song is very emotional and dramatic. I felt the connection right away and the new arrangement was clear to me.” As always, Val Tvoar self-produced the music and played all the instruments, including drums, bass, and guitars. .
lyrics
Suudelda neidu
Noormees läks, sest kohustus kutsus,
vormimaks aated tegudes truuduseks.
Oota mind, muidu ma langen!
Tõotused, lahkumissuudlused.
Kas ootusest väsis või unustas end
või otsis vaid veidike lohutust
tantsupeol lasi suudelda end.
See näis nõnda süütu ja ohutu.
Kurblikult kiunatas lõõtspill
ja tuled kustusid samas.
Teadis neid, et kusagil kaugel
ta peig, auk otsmikul, lamab.
